WELCOME MESSAGE
Prof. Ken-ichi Inui
On behalf of the Asian Association of Schools of Pharmacy (or AASP), I would like to extend my warmest welcome to all participants attending the 10th AASP Conference of 2022 as a Virtual Conference, which is scheduled to be held from 29th to 31st July, 2022 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The AASP was founded in 2001 and since then, AASP has steadily grown as an international organization with a mission to promote unity among pharmacy institutions in Asia, and a vision to enhance the quality of pharmacy education and training. Two major events – held at alternate years – hosted by AASP are the biennial AASP Conference and Pharmacy Education Forum (formerly Deans Forum). However, since 2020, massive global challenges have been presented by COVID-19: a pandemic, which has changed our lifestyle and work routines to an era of ‘New Normal’. We had to adjust our schedules and had to suspend our events as a result. Nevertheless, based on the power of sharing and the spirits of working together via virtual conferences, we have nonetheless found ways to move forward and realize our mission and vision using AASP as an active platform to share the expertise and to facilitate pharmacy education, pharmaceutical science and pharmacy practice.
This year, the 10th AASP Conference 2022 will feature very compelling and stimulating lectures by world famous speakers on the theme “Artificial Intelligence: The New Era in Pharmacy Landscape”. These 21st century programs offer a great opportunity to see the transformation of pharmacy, medical and pharmaceutical industries in the New Normal Era. Furthermore, at the conference young researchers and graduate students will present the latest findings in various research areas in the form of oral and poster presentations. With many participants from Asian countries, Australia, and North America, I earnestly hope that this conference will serve as an ideal platform for interactive exchange of ideas, development of collaborative ventures, and mutual learning. In addition, we would like to encourage the presenters to submit manuscripts after this conference for publication in the Journal of AASP.
Finally, on behalf of the AASP, I must express my sincere gratitude to the Chair of Organizing Committee Prof./Dr. Rosnani Hashim and all members of the organizing committee for their tremendous efforts in hosting this virtual conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I wish you all will have an enjoyable and fruitful virtual conference. Looking forward to seeing you all at future in-person events.
Sincerely,
Ken-ichi INUI (Ph.D.)
